If I'm not teaching kids...

I had the opportunity to be on the East Coast Baptist Association's Vacation Bible School training team with fellow Mission Service Corps missionary, Linda Puckett, who's husband is pastor at a sister church. We led in 2 clinics (one on the Island and one in Moncton, New Brunswick) and had a ton of fun and worked really well together. I think a lot of that is due to that she is from Tennessee! If I'm not teaching children, I love to teach others about teaching children!! These clinics have come at a great time because it's really gotten me pumped about the summer and leading VBS again. We're using LifeWay's Game Day Central: Where Heroes are Made. It's a sports theme and for this gal who doesn't play sports, I'm still excited! For those who know me best, you know how I'm a sports fan and love to cheer the teams on! I think I could do VBS every week of the year and be happy! Stressed, probably, but I do love it when it's happening and seeing what God does in the lives of workers, children, and parents.
Just a couple pics of Prince Edward Island taken at the same area, a month apart! This is right beside the Cape Bear Lighthouse in the Beach Point/Murray Harbour area. Of course, it's overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Nova Scotia is in the background, which you can barely see. The frozen-over pic was taken on March 11, when the pastor's family took me over to their home place at Beach Point, a fishing village. It was very windy that day, but it was neat to see all of this. The pic with me in it was taken last Saturday, the 21st, when a friend and I rode to the VBS Clinic together and I took her by here. It was so neat to see the change of scenery and to know that spring is definitely in the air!!

A New Home

Well, I have been meaning to do this for quite awhile, so hear I am. I hope that this blogspot can give you some insight into my life in Prince Edward Island and what in the world I am doing here! Charlottetown is a great little place to be and Community Baptist is a great group of people. So much of life here already reminds me of 'home' and what I once knew~~folks knowing each other when you go into stores, not so fast pace of life, senior adults in the church, and the ocean and smell of the water (it takes me back to the summers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast). I am still adjusting to my new life here, but it's going alright. I like my new little place and I'm making it my own. God continues to reveal Himself to me and the call He has placed on me to be here at this time. He is the Constant in my life...May you know His peace today!!
