My cousin, Blake Gosnell, is a Christian songwriter. I am so impressed by this young man's writing ability and so thankful that he is using his gifts for the Lord. He has recently entered one of his songs, “Layin’ It Down” into a Songwriting Event Contest hosted by Chris Tomlin’s Frequency Worship website. Songs were judged by Chris Tomlin, Christy Nockels, and Jesse Reeves. It was selected as one of ten songs to be voted on in the first week of this year’s event. FQ Radio is the internet radio station that features this week’s top ten songs that were chosen. Below are the links for listening and voting on this week’s selections, which include Blake’s song, “Layin’ It Down.” The Voting Deadline is Tuesday, April 20th.

Thanks for voting for Blake's song! If he wins, I'll make sure that he thanks all of my friends who voted for him :)
Originally from Mississippi, I've lived in Canada since August 2001. I came to Cochrane, Alberta, for seminary. During and after seminary, I served as children's minister at a church in Calgary. God allowed me to serve for a time in Prince Edward Island. God brought me back to Alberta in 2008, where I serve with the Canadian National Baptist Convention in the Missions division. Never would I have dreamed this journey God continues to take me on!

Prayer for Friends
Seems there's much going on in the lives of special people in my life. I sometimes find it to be too much, but I realize that it is a season of life and one when I must look to God even more.
I ask you to lift up my friends, Heather and Melissa, back in Mississippi. These young ladies and my sister and I grew up together. Their mother passed away almost 3years ago from a very terrible illness. Now, their dad is sick with liver cancer. Please pray for Benny's healing and that He will trust in Jesus! His mother is very sick in the hospital and the other grandmother has some health concerns. I find it all so unfair with what they are facing, but trying to trust in God through all of this.
A couple of friends are dealing with relationship issues. God knows who these are so pray for healing and complete trust and reliance on Him!
My heart breaks for my friends right now...
God continues to remind me of His promises. Just yesterday, someone shared this verse with me: "And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
Just tonight, I was reminded of these promises: "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33
"Look at the lilies of the field...if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Seek the kingdom of God above all else and He will give you everything you need." Luke 12:27-28,31
May we trust Him at all times!!!
